President Donald Trump made a pointed and powerful statement to Americans on Truth Social on Thursday. “STOP COMMUNISM IN OUR COUNTRY,” he wrote.

Trump’s comments come hot on the heels of the FBI’s unprecedented raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence on Monday. The 45th president called the situation “dark and dangerous times for America” in a comment on Truth Social, where he reposted his official statement regarding the raid from his Save America PAC.

This is not the first time that Trump has roasted the weaponization of the justice system and the rampant oppression of conservative voices in the media. In December 2021, Trump commented during an interview with Spicer & Co., “If our side doesn’t have a voice, eventually you’re going to end up with pure communism.”

Following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, Trump was deposed in New York City, where he spent time with “failed politician” and Attorney General Letitia James, who has spearheaded an investigation into Trump’s business dealings that have ultimately yielded no charges. However, instead of providing testimony, he invoked the Fifth Amendment.

“We cannot permit a renegade and out-of-control prosecutor to use this investigation as a means of advancing her political career,” Trump wrote. “…This is a vindictive and self-serving fishing expedition, the likes of which our Country has never seen before. The United States Constitution exists for this very purpose, and I will utilize it to the fullest extend to defend myself against this malicious attack by this administration, this Attorney General’s Office, and all other attacks on my family, my business, and our Country.”

Trump has repeatedly referred to the political attacks on him as a witch hunt, and in yet another statement posted to Truth Social, called the FBI raid, “A surprise attack, POLITICS, and all the while our Country is going to HELL!”
