Three women from Texas were sued by a man for wrongful deaths after they allegedly assisted his wife to get a medication abortion, and thus “murder” his unborn baby.
Brittni Silva divorced Marcus Silva in May 2022. However, she found out she was pregnant with their third child in the weeks that followed. During that time, she reportedly kept her pregnancy a secret from her husband but contacted three women — Jackie Noyola, Amy Carpenter (née Symmank), and Aracely Garcia — about arranging a medication abortion, even though almost all abortions have been illegal in the state of Texas since September 2021. Brittni Silva was alleged to have “a self-managed” abortion in July.
Marcus Silva sued Noyola Carpenter, Garcia, and Garcia last month for their role in the “wrongful deaths” of their unborn child. The lawsuit was filed in District Court of Galveston County, March 9, and states: “Under Texas law, a person who assists pregnant women in obtaining a self managed abortion is guilty of murder. He can be sued in wrongful death.”
