
Texas officials are puzzled by cattle whose tongues and other genitalia were mysteriously removed. The dead cattle were not covered in blood or showed signs of struggle.
Six cattle were discovered dead in Madison County, Texas, this week. The cause of death is still a mystery. Ranchers found the 6-year-old Longhorn-cross cow lying on its side and dead on their ranch.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has released a press release regarding the deaths of cattle that are suspicious.
“A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched,” the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said. The tongue was removed completely from the body without any blood spillage.
The police reported that they found no evidence of a struggle, tire tracks, or footprints near the animal.
The statement said that ranchers reported no predators or bird would scavenge on the carcass of the cow for several weeks.
The police discovered that five other cattle fatalities were very similar.
