NYT editorial board member suggests that some GOP lawmakers opposed to McCarthy were elected because of racism

Mara Gay, an editorial board member at the New York Times, suggested that some Republicans who opposed Kevin McCarthy’s bid to be the House speaker were elected out of racism

Gay appeared on MSNBC during a appearance. claimed Some Republican leaders were “elected on the basis of a litmus-test to stop the tides of diversity in America, the browning America, and the fears that surround it.”
