The viral video of what appeared as an explosion in Billings, Montana on Friday night was received with both concern and skepticism amid numerous reports about a Chinese spy ball flying above the state earlier that week.
“We are monitoring the situation. Governor: “I’m speaking to our National Guard to see if they have any additional information.” Greg Gianforte (R-Mont.) Tucker Carlson, Fox News Channel host, interviewed him shortly after the video was uploaded.
Later that night, the City of Billings announced on its Twitter account that it had verified with Montana’s Disaster Emergency Services as well as Gov. Gianforte said that there weren’t any explosions “in or around” the state. Additionally, the City of Billings stated that the video was “not substantiated.”
