North Carolina man plead guilty to the cold-blood murder of a woman. According to police, the 78-year old man shot and killed 26-yearold woman because he mistakenly believed she was being testified by another person that he had molested as a child.
Harold Reid Jr. was reported to have gone to Mocksville’s Rowan Pointe Apartments at 7:30 AM on October 3, 2022. Investigators believe Reid was on a mission to murder a woman set to testify against himself about child sex allegations he made when she was a little girl.
Reid reportedly shot and killed 26-year-old Quintia Miller — who had dropped off her son at the school bus stop and was walking back to her apartment, according to a GoFundMe campaign. Miller was pronounced dead at scene.
Miller, however, was not Reid’s real target. Police believe Reid wanted to murder Shavonne Barnes — a woman who was set to testify the next day against the elderly man for allegedly molesting her as a child.
In a statement, the Davie County Sheriff’s Office stated that “it is believed that he went into the Rowan Pointe Apartments in search of a person in the case against them to stop them participating in it.” Miller was apparently mistaken for Miller.
