The Dutch government has agreed to stop China having access to the chip manufacturing technology. This escalates a long-standing dispute with Beijing over semiconductors.
Chinese Communist Party (CCP), officials blasted The Hague, accusing the European Union state that it was siding with the United States during an ongoing chip war.
Liesje Schreinemacher (Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation), told the Dutch Parliament on March 8 that CCP access to sensitively-designed advanced equipment using ultraviolet
light to etch circuits onto processor chips was necessary on security and human rights grounds.
ASML Holdings, which is based in Veldhoven, in the Netherlands, is the world’s only producer of equipment using extreme-ultraviolet light (EUV), to etch microscopically precise circuits onto silicon, allowing them to be packed more closely together, thus boosting their speed and reduces power demand….
