Biden stated that his administration is working on a plan to end Title 42, which incentivized the illegal immigration. However, it’s still too early to tell, according to the Associated Press.
The president’s statement this week that chaos was imminent is in conflict with the claim made by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last week, that the Biden administration had “been preparing quite a while and we are prepared.”
Title 42 has been implemented to great success in the last few years. Since its implementation in March 2020 by then Republican President Donald Trump, it has helped to eject approximately 2.8 millions illegal immigrants.
